Cochin fils, who provided depictions of people and genre scenes, and by P. Qu. Chédel, who contributed landscape paintings. Le Clerc's innovative presentation style, 'which combined a geometric instructional image with a landscape or genre scene, decisively contributed to his fame' (Catalogue Punkt, Punkt, Komma, Strich. Munich and Heidelberg 2014-2016, page 60). Only a few are slightly foxed.
