Vintage die-cut promotional display for Jaws (Universal, 1975). The piece is constructed from heavyweight blue-printed cardstock and marked Made in USA. Unfolded: 18 3/8" H x 22 5/8" W. Folded: 14 5/8" H x 16" W. Universal sent its promotional material to the author as it went out to theaters. This standee is from that shipment. From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940-2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation. Proceeds from the Peter Benchley Collection will benefit five ocean conservation organizations: Peter Benchley Ocean Awards, WildAid, Beneath the Waves, Blue Frontier and Environmental Defense Fund. CONDITION: Significant creasing is present along horizontal and vertical factory fold lines. There is tearing and paper loss at the fold junctions on the lower base flaps. Die-cut edges show scuffing and softening. The reverse shows age-related yellowing and faint scattered staining.
