From the personal collection of Peter Benchley (American, 1940-2006), acclaimed author of Jaws, accomplished diver, and prominent advocate for ocean and shark conservation. CONDITION: Heavily worn condition. The leather exterior shows extensive scuffing, deep scratching, and surface abrasion throughout. Corners are severely worn with the underlying frame material exposed. The handle leather is cracked and darkened from use. Brass-toned hardware exhibits significant tarnish, oxidation, and loss of finish. The interior shows age-related wear and light staining, with the lining in the lid beginning to peel at one corner.
