293 - FENDI, "Fall in Fall" Limited Edition Baguette in floral silk brocade with gold thread, metallic fabric, and velvet; grape cluster motif; silk satin lining; shoulder strap in purple-dyed lizard leather. Central and side buckles in 18KT gold. Good condition. Serial number: 2454-26424-009. Dimensions: 25.4 x 13.5 x 4.4 cm (approx.). Year: 2001 This limited-edition bag was created by Fendi in collaboration with the Lisio Foundation. This collaboration, which began in 1997, saw the Foundation supply the fabrics for the bags, crafted using Florentine weaving techniques. The fabric features the “liseré effect,” in which half of the gold weft threads in the background are “floated,” thereby creating patterns on the background. The autumnal motifs—chestnuts and grapes—are reminiscent of Chinese dayazhai porcelain. Created using a European technique, the decoration evokes a Chinese motif inspired by cultural imports from Persia and the Near East. Included in the lot is the book *La Fondazione Lisio e Fendi*. This model was exhibited at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum for *MEMOS. About This Millennium.’ This lot is subject to CITES restrictions on export/import and can only be shipped to an address within the EU. Buyers are responsible for obtaining and paying for the permit.
