J. Blain () - Air Vietnam. Circa 1951. Printed by Gaillard. 98.5 x 58.5 cm. Original poster, lithographic print, mounted on canvas. Grade A-, a very slight horizontal crease at the top. This poster was created following the airline’s founding at the request of Emperor Bao Dai. Four destinations were featured on successive posters. This is the rarest version, for Tourane (now Da Nang), in what was then still French Indochina. The artist chose to depict in a single image the coexistence of two worlds: traditional Vietnam, with this junk in the foreground, and a Douglas DC-3 aircraft in the sky, to inspire passengers to dream of Asia and the East.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
