Andy Warhol (1928–1987) - Lighthouse Footwear. 1979. 114x76cm. Original poster printed using lithography and offset. Unmounted. Grade A-, a slight crease in the upper right corner. Original poster created in 1979 to promote the snake-skin shoe line by Lighthouse Footwear. The campaign was commissioned from Andy Warhol, who, despite being a Pop Art star, was open to creating advertisements. This was a task he always carried out successfully, excelling as an advertiser much like Dalí. This is certainly the case here, with an extremely effective visual in which the reptile is the shoe; it should be noted that, unlike many posters of the era, the artist’s signature is clearly visible.
