Small folio in loose sheets, half-vellum slipcase, and publisher’s case. First edition: illustrated with 24 original etchings by Germaine Richier, including 10 full-page plates. Printed in a run of 155 copies on Auvergne pure-fiber paper. One of the 10 front-run copies, including a set of etchings on Rives pure-fiber paper and a crossed-out copper plate. This is one of the last illustrated books by the sculptor Germaine Richier (1904–1959), a student of Bourdelle, who passed away the following year.
