Toward the end of his life, he met Armande de Trentinan, the daughter of Francis Ponge and secretary to Jean Dubuffet. Rodel then shifted the focus of his collection toward Dubuffet and sold a large part of his Henri Michaux collection to Jean Hugues, director of the Le Point Cardinal bookstore and gallery. I myself acquired this volume from Jean Hugues a few years ago. Pierre Chave.” (Catalog of the Chave exhibition, 2002, reproduced on page 4.)
