TITUS SCHADE (1984, Leipzig; based there) Small Model Table, 2008 Oil on canvas. 30 x 40 cm. Titled, dated, and signed twice on the reverse. Titus Schade is one of the best-known representatives of the young Leipzig painting scene; he studied at the Academy of Visual Arts, under Neo Rauch, among others. His subject is not the figure, but space: scenery-like environments that resemble models or theater stages. This small painting from 2008 already fully embodies this approach, and the title explicitly articulates it.
