KLAUS FUSSMANN (born 1938 in Velbert, based in Gelting and Berlin) Rapeseed Fields with Trees, 2021 Pastel on paper. 22.5 x 30.5 cm. Framed with the artwork set behind glass in a mat. Dated and signed lower right. Since the 1970s, Fussmann has been exploring the landscape of Schleswig-Holstein in ever-changing ways, with the rapeseed field as one of his recurring motifs. His pastels are often created directly on site and differ in their approach from his heavy, impasto-layered oil paintings: here, what counts is the speed with which a lighting situation can be captured.
