Manufactured by Dodge Inc. Trophies of Los Angeles under rights granted by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, with the manufacturer's mark and original paper label affixed to the base. In fine condition, with light wear and tarnishing throughout, and the globe loose and in need of repair. Broadcast on CBS on December 28, 1973, CBS Reports: The Rockefellers was a two-hour documentary exploring the history and influence of one of America's most powerful families, from the industrial rise of John D. Rockefeller to the political and philanthropic legacies of his descendants, including Nelson and David Rockefeller. The program featured commentary from figures including historian Henry Steele Commager, British statesman Edward Heath, and Soviet Premier Aleksei Kosygin, alongside members of the Rockefeller family itself, and was reported by Walter Cronkite. The documentary was produced by Howard Stringer, then early in a career that would earn him nine individual Emmy Awards and eventually the leadership of CBS News and Sony Corporation, and executive produced by Burton Benjamin, the veteran CBS News executive behind The Twentieth Century. A landmark achievement in broadcast journalism, this award recognizes CBS Reports at its investigative and historical best.
