Horseman riding his mount with ease and pride. Very hard wood, antique light-brown patina from use, traces of natural red pigments, signs of age. Western Nepal. H. 65 × W. 26 cm. Provenance: Former Joaquín Pecci Collection. Publication: - Éric Chazot, Liliane and Michel Durand-Dessert, *Himalayas – Art & Shamans*, Paris, LMDD, 2009, Volume I, nos. 108/109. Exhibition: City Hall of the 6th arrondissement, Paris, 2007. This horseman stands out for the confidence of his posture: chest out, shoulders high, arms drawn back to his hips in an attitude of calm mastery. In western Nepal, where mountain trails demand endurance, courage, and skill, the horse becomes a companion on difficult journeys. Here, the horse’s compact stance and the figure’s proud bearing lend the entire scene an impression of liveliness, dexterity, and restrained momentum.
