Louis van TEEFFELEN (1921–1972) for WéBé (Walvaren & Bevers) Teak armchair with a red-stained faux leather seat, padded with foam, and a base fitted with glides Circa 1960 Dimensions: 88 x 63 x 70 cm (A tear in the leather on the seat, approximately 1 cm long; slight wear on the wood) Designer Louis Van TEEFFELEN notably created several furniture lines for the Dutch company WéBé (Walvaren & Bevers), founded in 1938 and located in Beneden-Leeuwen, which was active in the 1960s. The company enjoyed a true golden age in the 1950s and 1960s in the Netherlands and established itself as a very popular design brand until the late 1990s. Their designs are making a comeback, and our armchair is a fine example of this.
