François Epin Auction

A digital auction house specializing in functional art, collectible design, and animation.

French auctioneer François Epin served as head of the Decorative Arts and Design department at Pierre Bergé & Associés in Paris and Brussels from 2006 to 2011. During a period when the market was still taking shape, he blazed new trails by showcasing emerging designers fresh out of design school, while also contributing to the growing international recognition of Scandinavian design. He subsequently developed the design auction business at PIASA, exploring new territories such as American and Brazilian design, until 2017—the year he launched his own consultancy firm. He collaborates with 18 Davies Street Gallery in London, Li Edelkoort in Paris, and Unique Design in Shanghai, as well as with various auction houses and private collectors. After joining Cornette de Saint-Cyr as head of the design department in 2020, he co-founded Guru—a fair dedicated to contemporary craftsmanship and design—in 2021. His work combines research with strategic consulting; by continuously analyzing the global market, he also helps young designers secure a place in major collections. In 2023, he founded an eponymous auction house, and as of 2025, it includes a department specialized in the art of animation.
