Originally established in Paris during the Ancien Régime, the firm moved in the 1980s from Avenue de La Grande Armée (in the 16th arrondissement) to locations near the Hôtel Drouot and in La Varenne-Saint-Hilaire—situated in a loop of the Marne River, a historic hub for boating and residential living right next to Paris.

In 2023, the firm changed its name: LOMBRAIL-TEUCQUAM became VARENNE ENCHERES.

The firm quickly specialized in auctions of modern and contemporary paintings—particularly works by artists from Paris, Normandy, and the Val-de-Marne region, as well as major figures in modern art. We organize around forty sales annually, split between the Hôtel Drouot (Paris 9th) and La Varenne-Saint-Hilaire (Val-de-Marne). Our sales cover a wide range of categories, including jewelry, gemstones, and precious metals (gold, platinum, silver); watches and timepieces; wines and spirits (a field in which the firm was a pioneer); tribal art; art glass and perfume bottles; Asian art (specifically China and Vietnam); vintage toys; 20th-century design and art; collector vehicles; Islamic art; Russian and Slavic art; musical instruments; sculptures; miniatures; Old Master paintings and drawings; ceramics; furniture; objets d’art; books; autographs; historical memorabilia; posters; stamps; fashion and leather goods; perfumery; and many others.

Our auctioneers—Jérôme Truchetet, Jean-François de Lastours, and Roxane d’Antin—are at your disposal to assist you with estate settlements, the sale of items, or art valuations (including for insurance inventory purposes). We provide free, confidential valuations—either at our offices or at your home—to inform you of the value of your items and their potential for sale.

Backed by an extensive network of specialized experts and a broad international clientele, we dedicate our professionalism and expertise to your finest treasures.
