FOSSIL EINES FRÜHEN AMPHIBIEN, DISCOSAURISCUS PULCHERRIMUS TSCHECHIEN, UNTERES PERM, CA. 290 MILLIONEN JAHRE VOR HEUTE Ein gut erhaltenes Exemplar des frühen Amphibiens Discosauriscus pulcherrimus 22 cm Breite Discosauriscus war ein kleiner, ausgestorbener Tetrapode, der während des frühen Perm vor etwa 290 Millionen Jahren im heutigen Mitteleuropa lebte. Seine Überreste sind aus Ablagerungen von Süßwasserseen bekannt und reichen von Schädeln und Teilfunden bis hin zu relativ vollständigen Skeletten wie dem vorliegenden Exemplar. Die Art ist mehr als fünfzig Millionen Jahre älter als die frühesten bekannten Dinosaurier, da sie im frühen Perm lebte, lange vor dem Auftauchen der Dinosaurier im späten Trias.
