Okukwé-Tanzmaske, Galoa-Volk, Gabun. Wunderschöne anthropomorphe Maske aus geschnitztem und vielfarbig bemaltem Holz, mit einem ovalen Gesicht, halb geschlossenen Augen, geschwungenen Augenbrauenbögen und einer geraden Nase. Die Gestaltung wird durch ein geometrisches Muster aus schwarzen Dreiecken, weißen Pigmenten und rotbraunen Nuancen belebt, das eine Gebrauchsspuren-Patina und alte Abnutzungsspuren aufweist. Das Ensemble weist noch einen umfangreichen Besatz aus Pflanzenfasern auf, die eine Frisur und eine Verkleidung um das Gesicht bilden. Die ausgehöhlte Rückseite zeigt Spuren von Schnitzarbeiten und alte Sammleretiketten (J. Lecluse, Lüttich). Inklusive Sockel. Höhe: 34 cm
