Johnny Friedlaender 1912 Pleß - 1992 Paris - Ohne Titel - (1978) Gouache/Karton. 35,5 x 27,5 cm. 71 x 60 cm (Maß mit Rahmen). Sign. und dat. r. u.: Friedlaender (19)78. Passepartout. Voll ansichtig unter Glas gerahmt. - Galerierechnung (Galerie Koch-Westenhoff, Lübeck) aus dem Jahr 1995 in Höhe von 24.000.- DM liegt vor (in Kopie). Friedlaender studierte von 1928 bis 1930 an der Staatlichen Akademie für Kunst und Kunstgewerbe in Breslau, u. a. bei Otto Mueller. 1937 emigrierte er nach Frankreich, wo er aber zwischen 1939 und 1943 interniertwurde. Friedlaender gilt als Wegbereiter der modernen Radierung. Er nahm an zahlreichen internationalen Ausstellungen teil und vertrat Frankreich 1958 auf der Biennale in Venedig. Zu Lebzeiten fand 1987 eine Retrospektive in der Kunsthalle Bremen statt.
