Schlangenring mit Diamanten - "Promise ring" 1. Hälfte 20. Jahrhundert. 585/- Gelbgold, gestemp. Ges.-Gew.: 12,3 g. Punze: "585 Bender" (verschlagen, nicht eindeutig lesbar). Plastisch reliefierte Ringschiene mit drei ineinander verschlungenen Schlangen, deren Köpfe mit wohl 1 Rubin im Cabochonschliff von ca. 1 ct, 1 Diamanten im Altschliff von ca. 0,10 ct, 2 kleinen Smaragden sowie 1 Perle von ca. 4,4 mm besetzt sind. Ringgr. 51. Sehr guter Erhaltungszustand. Ausdrucksvoller Schlangenring mit plastisch ausgearbeitetem Schlangenkörper und dekorativem Edelsteinbesatz. Die Schlange zählt zu den ältesten und symbolträchtigsten Motiven der Schmuckgeschichte. Seit der Antike steht sie für Ewigkeit, Erneuerung und Unvergänglichkeit. Besonders im 19. Jahrhundert entwickelte sich der Schlangenring zu einem beliebten Symbol für Liebe und Treue.
