Feinstein, Pavel Stilleben mit Hortensie, Flaschen und Aprikosen Öl auf Leinwand. 1987. 60 x 73 cm. Unten rechts mit Pinsel in Schwarz signiert "PAVEL" und datiert, verso bezeichnet "291". Pavel Feinstein lässt eine Interpretation seiner Bilder stets offen. Etwas Geheimnisvolles schwingt häufig als Bestandteil seiner Gemälde mit. Feinsteins Kompositionen zeichnen sich durch eine präzise Oberflächengestaltung und die detaillierte Wiedergabe von Lichtreflexen auf den einzelnen Objekten aus, durch die die Materialität der Gegenstände erfahrbar wird. Feinstein, eigentlich Pavel Chmelnizkij, lernte anfangs bei Leonid Starkow und besuchte 1978-79 die Kunstfachschule Duschanbe in Tadschikistan. 1980 nach Berlin emigriert, studierte er bis 1985 an der Hochschule der Künste und wurde Meisterschüler von Gerhart Bergmann. Seine erste Einzelausstellung fand 1986 in der Berliner Galerie Taube statt.
