Thomas Hennell RWS, britisch, 1903–1945 – Folkestone, 1932; Aquarell, Tinte und Bleistift auf Papier, auf der Rückseite betitelt und datiert „Folkestone 1932“, 28 x 37,3 cm (ARR) Provenienz: bei Jennings Fine Art, Twickenham (laut einer Kopie der Originalrechnung); Nachlass von John Byrne (1945–2025), am 16. Februar 2010 von diesem erworben Anmerkung: In den 1930er Jahren freundete sich der Künstler mit in Essex ansässigen Persönlichkeiten wie Edward Bawden und Eric Ravillious an. Leider wurde die vielversprechende Karriere des Künstlers durch seinen frühen Tod im Zweiten Weltkrieg jäh beendet. Viele seiner Werke befinden sich in den Sammlungen des Imperial War Museum, der Fry Art Gallery und der Manchester Art Gallery.
