Er unternahm mehrere Reisen nach Asien, insbesondere nach Indien, wie dieses Frauenporträt aus Kalkutta zeigt: ein Werk, das sich durch Spontaneität und die Kraft der malerischen Darstellung mit leuchtenden Farben auszeichnet.
