Haklo, J. "Das Eisenwalzwerk" Aquarell, Feder und Kreide in Schwarz, Bleistift und farbige Papiere, collagiert, auf grauem Velin. 1918/24. 31,8 x 39,8 cm. Unten rechts mit Bleistift signiert "Haklo" und datiert, unten links monogrammiert "JH" und datiert "1919" sowie verso auf der Rahmenabdeckung mit Feder in Schwarz später signiert (oder evtl. von fremder Hand) bezeichnet, datiert und betitelt. Ameisenkleine Menschen halten die Maschinerie des Eisenwalzwerks am Laufen, alles vom Künstler in reliefhafter Plastizität collagiert. Mit bemerkenswerter Feinheit und Liebe zum Detail fasst er das industrielle Geschehen in der begrenzten Bildfläche dicht gedrängt zusammen, arrangiert Schicht über Schicht, lässt dazwischen das Metall silbrig schimmern und gestaltet eine beeindruckende Collage menschlicher Schwerstarbeit und industrieller Abläufe, die wie Zahnräder ineinandergreifen.
