(Louis JOU). CERVANTES. DON QUICHOTTE DE LA MANCHE. Genf, Gérald Cramer, 1948–50. 4 Bände in-4° als Loseblatt, in vom Verlag verzierten Schutzumschlägen und Schuber. Monumentales Werk, reich illustriert mit 128 Einlegeblättern, wobei jedes Kapitel mit einem verzierten Anfangsbuchstaben, einem Kopfbanner und einem Fußbanner versehen ist; insgesamt wurden dafür 515 verschiedene Holzschnitte benötigt. Louis Jou unternahm eine zweimonatige Reise durch La Mancha auf den Spuren seines Helden, um die Landschaften originalgetreu wiederzugeben. EXEMPLAR ERGÄNZT DURCH EINE VOLLSTÄNDIGE FOLGE ALLER ILLUSTRATIONEN. Exemplar gedruckt auf Arches-Papier, nicht ausgerichtet, aus der Bibliothek des Verlegers von Luxusausgaben Cristobal de Avededo, mit dessen Exlibris auf jedem Band. Schuber des ersten Bandes repariert. (Feuille, Nr. 98).
