XAVIER MATÉGOT (geb. 1956) & CHRISTIAN FARJON (Herausgeber) Serie von sechs Sesseln, Modell XM3, entworfen um 1986. Gestell aus verchromtem Metallrohr, Rückenlehne bestehend aus einem Band aus Aluminiumguss, in das eine schwarze Gummipolsterung eingelassen ist, gefederte Sitzfläche aus geformtem Sperrholz, die auf einem profilierten Fußgestell aus grau lackiertem Stahl ruht. H. 68 – B. 54 – T. 64 cm (Sehr leichte Oxidationsflecken) Herkunft: Privatsammlung, Paris. Literatur: Yvonne Brunhammer und Marie-Laure Perrin, „Le Mobilier français, 1960–1998“, Paris, Éditions Massin, 1998, ähnliches Modell abgebildet auf S. 173. Weitere Informationen: Der Sessel XM3 gehört zur Möbelkollektion XM, die Xavier Matégot in den 1980er Jahren entwarf. Sein Design basiert auf einem Spiel der Kontraste zwischen der filigranen Metallkonstruktion, der Geometrie der Sitzfläche und der schlichten Rückenlehne. Die Kombination aus industriellen Materialien und klaren Formen verleiht diesem Sessel eine entschieden modernistische Ästhetik.
