Contessa-Nettel | Ergo Nr.15 Monocular Camera Estimate: € 1,000–1,200 Year: 1926 Condition: A/B English: German detective camera for 4.5 × 6 cm plates, manufactured by Contessa-Nettel, Stuttgart, featuring the distinctive monocular-shaped body characteristic of the remarkable Ergo camera. Type 15, fitted with a Tessar 4.5/5.5 cm lens no. 542653. Its ingenious and unconventional construction, resembling a small monocular rather than a conventional photographic camera, makes the Ergo one of the most distinctive German detective cameras of the early 20th century. The camera is preserved in beautiful original condition, complete with six original Contessa-Nettel 4.5 × 6 cm film holders, cable release and original fitted leather carrying case.
