VAUTRIN Line (1913–1997). Anhänger aus Talosel in Form eines Adlers. Monogramm „VL“. Höhe ca. 9,5 cm Line Vautrin war eine französische Künstlerin und Designerin, die vor allem in den 1930er- bis 1960er-Jahren tätig war. Zunächst arbeitete sie mit vergoldeter Bronze (Dosen, Spiegel, Schmuck), machte sich dann aber mit einem von ihr entwickelten Material einen Namen: Talosel. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Kunstharz, das Line Vautrin Ende der 1950er Jahre in Zusammenarbeit mit einem Chemiker erfand. Der Name leitet sich angeblich von „Talos“ und „sel“ ab. Sie goss das Material in Bronze- oder Metallformen, fügte Spiegelsplitter, Glitzerpartikel, Glasfragmente oder Pigmente hinzu und schleifte und polierte es anschließend. Das Ergebnis ist ein durchscheinendes Material, das oft in warmen Farbtönen (Bernstein, Braun, Grün, Blau) getönt und mit Spiegeleinschlüssen durchsetzt ist, die das Licht einfangen.
