Eine antike gotische Temperamalerei auf Holz aus einem Altarbild, die die Verkündigung an die Hirten und die Flucht nach Ägypten darstellt. Lérida (Lleida) oder Oberaragonien, Spanien, 14. Jahrhundert. Veröffentlicht im Ausstellungskatalog „Virga Jesse“, Nr. 21, S. 64. Dem „Virga Jesse“-Katalog zufolge war diese Tafel ursprünglich Teil eines gotischen Altarbildes mit einer Madonna mit Kind im Mittelbild. Der Katalog führt weiter aus, dass eine weitere Tafel desselben Altarbildes vom Museum für katalanische Kunst in Barcelona erworben wurde und vermutlich heute Teil der Sammlung des Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) ist. Provenienz: Ehemalige Sammlung von Professor Jan Karel Steppe (1918–2009): belgischer Kunsthistoriker und Sammler, Gent. H: 84 – B: 30,5 cm
