Pierre BAYLE (1945–2004). Flasche. Vase mit schmalem Hals aus engobiertem Terrakotta, sogenanntem „Sigillata“. H_8 cm, beschädigt, restaurierungsbedürftig. Herkunft: okzitanische Privatsammlung, von einer Freundin von Pierre Bayle. Anmerkung: Der im Languedoc stammende und in Castelnaudary ausgebildete Keramikkünstler Pierre Bayle verband traditionelles Handwerk mit avantgardistischer Forschung und etablierte die Keramik als eigenständige Kunstform an der Schnittstelle zwischen Gebrauchs- und Dekorationsgegenständen. Er fertigt Sigillata-Keramiken an, die engobiert und anschließend geräuchert werden, deren Oberflächen aufgrund ihrer Textur und ihrer Craquelé-Effekte bearbeitet sind, was seinen Werken Tiefe und Einzigartigkeit verleiht.
