Léonard Tsuguharu FOUJITA (1886–1968). Porträt von Lucien Fabre (1889–1952), um 1923. Schwarze Tusche und Mineralpigmente auf Seide, rechts in der Mitte signiert „Tsuguharu“ auf Japanisch und „Foujita“. H. 29 – B. 20 cm. Vereinzelte kleine Stockflecken. Mit einem AGRB-Echtheitszertifikat von Sylvie Buisson und Casimir Buisson, Experten für T.L. Foujita bei der Union française des experts en objets d’art, datiert vom 14. Oktober 2026. Dieses bisher unveröffentlichte Werk, das heute im Foujita-Buisson-Archiv verzeichnet ist, wird in Band Nr. 5 des in Vorbereitung befindlichen Werkverzeichnisses von Tsuguharu Léonard Foujita aufgenommen. Lucien Fabre ist der Autor eines Gedichtbands mit dem Titel „Vanikoro“, der 1923 im Verlag „Nouvelle Revue Française“ erschien und dessen Originalausgabe mit einem als Frontispiz dienenden, auf Kupfer gestochenen Porträt des Autors illustriert war. Dieser Stich, der bislang als einziger bekannt ist, stammt direkt aus dem unveröffentlichten Werk, das wir hier zur Versteigerung anbieten. Ein solches Porträt verdeutlicht Foujitas bekannte Verbindung zu den Pariser Literaturkreisen seiner Zeit, zu denen Jean Cocteau, Robert Desnos oder auch Lucien Fabre gehörten.
