HENRI GODET (1863–1937). „Die geflügelte Psyche“. Marmor. Signiert. Maße: 98 x 46 x 34 cm. Weist einige Beschädigungen auf. Henri Godet war ein bedeutender französischer Bildhauer und Medailleur, der sich voll und ganz der Art-Nouveau-Bewegung und dem Symbolismus der Fin de Siècle verschrieben hatte. Als Schüler des Meisters Mathurin Moreau stellte er ab 1883 regelmäßig auf den Pariser Salons aus. Berühmt wurde er vor allem durch seine „Blumenfrauen“ (femmes-fleurs), zarte Frauenbüsten aus Bronze und Marmor, deren Figuren aus geschnitzten botanischen Kompositionen wie Mohnblumen, Lilien oder Ranken hervortreten. Er schuf zudem komplexe mythologische Kompositionen und Allegorien, die von klassischen Gemälden inspiriert waren.
