RÖMISCHER MALER DES 18. JAHRHUNDERTS MADONNA MIT KIND UND ENGELN Öl auf Leinwand, 21 x 16 cm. Vergoldeter und geschnitzter Holzrahmen, 18. Jahrhundert. Das Gemälde, das die Madonna mit dem Kind und Heiligen darstellt, ist dem römischen Malertum des 18. Jahrhunderts im Umfeld von Sebastiano Conca (Gaeta, 1680 – Neapel, 1764) zuzuordnen. Die Komposition, die sich durch eine innige, andächtige Atmosphäre auszeichnet, zeigt Figuren, die in einem ausgewogenen kompositorischen Aufbau angeordnet sind, mit sanften Hell-Dunkel-Übergängen und einer raffinierten Farbpalette, die von den Blautönen des marianischen Mantels dominiert wird. Die Sanftheit der Gesichtsausdrücke, die fließenden Faltenwürfe und die zarte Darstellung der Hauttöne erinnern an den Malstil von Sebastiano Conca und seinem Umkreis, die die Sprache des Klassizismus und des römischen Spätbarocks interpretierten.
