RUSSISCHE SCHULE, 19. JAHRHUNDERT DIE VERKLÄRUNG Eitempera auf Holz, 31 x 26 cm Elegante russische Ikone aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, die die Verklärung Christi darstellt, eine der bedeutendsten Episoden der evangelischen Tradition und eines der zwölf großen Feste der orthodoxen Liturgie. Die Komposition folgt dem traditionellen byzantinischen Ikonografieschema: Christus steht im Zentrum, umhüllt vom göttlichen Licht und flankiert von Mose und Elija, während im unteren Bildbereich die drei Apostel Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes dargestellt sind, die von der Pracht der Vision überwältigt sind.
