Nicolas Beatrizet – Die Schlacht der Amazonen – 1559 Beschreibung: Fries mit der Schlacht der Amazonen, auf dem kämpfende Männer und Frauen, viele davon zu Pferd, dargestellt sind; nach einem römischen Sarkophag auf dem Kapitol. 1559. Stich, gedruckt von zwei Platten; dies ist die linke Platte. Aus „Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae“: „Amazonum pugna adfabre efficta de sarcophago vetustissimo quod in Capitolio visitur“ … Ein spektakuläres und seltenes Werk in einem frühen Druck. Maße: 30,70 x 40,00 cm Zustand: Hervorragender früher Abzug auf Büttenpapier mit Wasserzeichen. Innerhalb des Plattenrandes beschnitten, jedoch vollständig mit Bildrand und kleinen Rändern, in ausgezeichnetem Zustand.
