Me Dvlcis Satvret Qvies“. Inschrift auf der Tafel darunter, in sechs Zeilen Latein von Gevaerts: „Qui nouies patria moderatus in Urbe secures,/ Qui summos spreuit, quos dabat Aula gradus;/ Sic vultus sic docta gerit Roccoxius ora,/ Octonas bis dum vixit Olympiadas/ Ambitione procul. Pontius sculpsit“ Nach Anthony van Dyck Druck von: Paulus Pontius Nach: Peter Paul Rubens (früher zugeschrieben) Maße: 26,20 x 18,20 cm Zustand: Hervorragender Druck auf einem ganzen Bogen wasserzeichenversehtem Büttenpapier (Narr mit Glöckchen). Der Zustand ist ausgezeichnet. Literatur: New Hollstein (Niederländisch & Flämisch) 104. (Van Dyck) Mauquoy-Hendrickx 1991 115.IX Hollstein 117 (Pontius) Schneevoogt 1873 186.273 (fälschlicherweise Rubens zugeschrieben) Das Porträt basiert wahrscheinlich auf einer Zeichnung von Van Dyck, die sich heute in der Royal Collection im Windsor Castle befindet, Inv.-Nr. 906421, (Vey 193; C. White und C. Crawley, „The Dutch and Flemish Drawings of the XV to XIX Centuries in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen at Windsor Castle“, Cambridge 1994, Kat. 354).
