ARCHIMEDE SEGUSO (Murano, 1909–1999). Kronleuchter, ca. 1940. Aus MURANO-Glas. Geblasenes Glas. Mit Signatur auf dem Sockel. Elektrifiziert. Maße: 63 x 22 cm, 85 x 58,5 cm (mit Schirm). Geboren in Murano, begann er im Alter von 11 Jahren in der Glasbläserei zu arbeiten und verfeinerte seine Fähigkeiten, indem er Glasstücke des 18. Jahrhunderts nachahmte. Im Alter von zwanzig Jahren wurde er ein ausgezeichneter Glasbläsermeister und zeichnete sich auch durch die damals neu entstandene Massivglasverarbeitung aus. Er engagiert zunächst Vittorio Zecchin und dann Flavio Poli als Designer in der Familienmanufaktur „Seguso Vetri d'Arte“. Ab den 1930er Jahren wird er eingeladen, auf der Biennale in Venedig auszustellen, wo bis 1972 der Pavillon „Venedig“ dem Muranoglas gewidmet ist. Elektrifiziert.
