Anthonis van Dyck, Nachfolge Portrait von William Villiers, zweiter Viscount Grandison Öl auf Leinwand (doubliert). 77 x 64 cm. Provenienz Dreweatts, Newbury, 2.3.2023, Lot 43. – Niederländische Privatsammlung. Das Gemälde stellt eine Wiederholung des Brustportraits von William Villiers (1614-1643), zweiter Viscount Grandison, in der Bodleian Library, London dar (Inv.-Nr. LP 102), das von einem unbekannten Nachfolger Anthonis van Dycks ausgeführt wurde. Van Dyck hatte den Halbbruder des ersten Duke of Buckingham lebensgroß portraitiert (Euston Hall, Suffolk). Eine weitere Version, des vorliegenden Bildes, die den Portraitierten inschriftlich identifiziert, findet sich in Lydiard House, Swindon, Wiltshire (Inv.-Nr. Lyd1992/031).
