Crisse CRISSE DAS KRISTALLSCHWERT Der Blick von Wenlok (Band 2), Vents d’Ouest 1991 Originalumschlag. Signiert. Öl auf Leinwand 50 × 70 cm (19,69 × 27,56 in.) Schon in jungen Jahren veröffentlichte Crisse in „Spirou“ und „Tintin“ und reihte sich in die Tradition von Dany ein, dessen Strich ihn inspirierte. Doch ab den 1990er Jahren wandte er sich nach einem Drehbuch von Jacky Goupil einem aufkommenden Genre zu: der Heroic Fantasy, mit der Schaffung der Kultserie „Das Kristallschwert“ bei Vents d’Ouest. Für die Titelbilder dieser Serie malt er Szenen in Öl, eine Technik, die er dank seiner akademischen Ausbildung meisterhaft beherrscht. Es sind die einzigen Titelbilder, die er mit diesem Medium gestalten wird. Das Ergebnis ist diese kühne Komposition, die sich durch Transparenz in den Farben und virtuosen Umgang mit dem Licht auszeichnet. Ein Kunstwerk.
