Ledroit OLIVIER LEDROIT XOCO Papillon obsidienne (Band 1), Vents d’Ouest 1994 Originalzeichnung Nr. 12. Acryl und Tusche auf Papier 50 × 65 cm (19,69 × 25,59 in.) Bevor er Schlachten in donnernden Welten aneinanderreihte, schuf Ledroit diese gedämpfte Erzählung unter dem Pseudonym Thomas Mosdi, die im New York der 1930er Jahre spielt. Das Licht ist dämmerig (kein Wunder: Er kam gerade aus den „Chroniques de la Lune noire“), der Zeichenstil ultrarealistisch, und die Stimmungen scheinen einer Mischung aus Sergio Leones „Es war einmal in Amerika“ und Francis Ford Coppolas „Der Pate“ zu entspringen. Die Qualität der Recherchen, die Arbeit am Layout und an den Texturen stellten für den Autor einen enormen Arbeitsaufwand dar. Deshalb kehrt er sofort zu den fantastischen Welten zurück, die ihn bekannt gemacht hatten.
