Erschienen 1956 in London bei Ariel Press. Erstausgabe. Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759 – 1840) war Maler und Botaniker. Er war außerdem offizieller Hofkünstler von Königin Marie Antoinette in Frankreich. Redouté trug den Beinamen „der Raffael der Blumen“ und gilt als der größte botanische Illustrator aller Zeiten.
