HL Meyer – Chromolithografie einer Ralle, 1857. Dieser Stich stammt von Henry Leonard Meyer aus dem Werk „Illustrations of British Birds and Their Eggs“, erschienen bei Willis und Sotheran, London 1857. Meyer spezialisierte sich auf ornithologische Motive und wurde bei der Handkolorierung der Stiche von seinen Kindern unterstützt. Die Handkolorierung dieser Tafeln ist exquisit. Die feinen Merkmale jedes Vogels wurden mit größter Sorgfalt und makelloser Genauigkeit wiedergegeben.
