Travies – Topaskolibri Beschreibung des Werks: Diese wunderschöne, ursprünglich handkolorierte Folio-Lithografie stammt aus Edouard Travies’ Werk „Les Oiseaux Les Plus Remarquables Par Leurs Formes et Leurs Couleurs. Scenes variees de leurs moeurs & de leurs habitudes“. Das Werk wurde um 1857 in Paris von Ledot aine oder Berrieux und in London von E. Gambert & Co. oder Victor Delarue veröffentlicht. Edouard Travies (1809–1876) war ein französischer Aquarellmaler, Lithograf und Illustrator. Er gilt als einer der größten ornithologischen Künstler des 19. Jahrhunderts. Jede Lithografie für dieses Werk hat er von Hand koloriert. Seine Arbeiten zeichnen sich dadurch aus, dass sie sowohl den Charakter der Vögel als auch die üppigen, detailreichen Hintergründe einfangen. Papierformat: ca. 21" × 15 1/2" Papiersorte oder Besonderheiten: Ursprünglich handkolorierte Lithografie Zustand: Das Werk befindet sich insgesamt in gutem bis ausgezeichnetem Zustand.
