Allgemeiner Sport / Karikaturen / Leichtathletik / Boxen / Tennis Gérard de FERRIER (1907–1986) Album mit Karikaturen von Sportlern aus den 1930er- und 1940er-Jahren, das etwa zwanzig Tafeln (22 x 14 cm) aus einem von Marval (Paris) herausgegebenen Album vereint. Vom Künstler auf der ersten Seite in weißer Schrift signiert und mit 1943 datiert. Zweifellos ein Arbeitsinstrument für Nachzeichnungen. 37,5 x 27,5 cm (grauer Einband in schlechtem Zustand; die Köpfe der Fratellini sind etwas zerknittert) Hier findet man die Riege der damaligen Champions: Leichtathletik, die klar die Nase vorn hat: Pujazon, Chypre, Rochard, Valmy, Lalanne oder der Hochspringer Lapointe (1,96 m) / Boxen: Brun, Diouf, Omar le Noir, Jean Despeaux, Édouard Tenet / Fechten: Edward Gardère, Michel Pécheux. / Radsport: Émile Idée. / Fußball: Émile Veinante / Tennis: Cochet, Petra, Destremau, „Le Grand Mètre“ und Pelizza / Außerhalb der Stadien: die Fratellini. Ein sympathischer Überblick, verfasst von einem Karikaturisten, der für „L’Athlège“ gearbeitet hat und später auch für „Le Monde“ tätig sein wird.
