Quartoformat (185 x 145 mm); [8], 175, [1] Seiten. Titelblatt mit Vignette, die das Vermessungswinkelmaß darstellt, Holzschnittverzierungen, im Text Kupferstich- und Holzschnitttafeln (Vergilbung, historische Restaurierungen und Verstärkungen an Wurmlöchern mit kleinen Textverlusten.) Zeitgenössischer Einband aus Vollpergament, handgeschriebene Titel auf dem Rücken (restauriert). Die erste Abhandlung, die sich speziell mit dem Vermessungswinkel befasst, einem Instrument zur Geländevermessung und Flächenberechnung. Das Werk, dessen Abfassung Oddi während seiner Gefangenschaft widmete, stützt sich auch auf frühere, unveröffentlichte Studien von Guidobaldo del Monte und dem Architekten und Ingenieur Francesco Paciotti und stellt einen Meilenstein in der Entwicklung der modernen Vermessungskunde dar.
