FRANZÖSISCHE SCHULE des 17. Jahrhunderts aus dem Umkreis von Gabriel Blanchard (1630-1704). Vielleicht eine Allegorie auf die Geburt von Ludwig XIV. Öl auf Leinwand. H_59 cm B_125 cm. Rentoiliert, Restaurierungen. Unser Gemälde erinnert an die Allegorie für die Geburt Ludwigs XIV., die Gabriel Blanchard 1665 malte und die im Schloss von Versailles aufbewahrt wird. Dieses Gemälde ist sein Empfangsstück an der Académie royale de Peinture et de Sculpture. In unserem Werk erkennt man die vom italienischen Barock geerbte Theatralik und die von der Renaissance inspirierten scharfen Farben. Diese Komposition könnte uns an den Vortrag erinnern, den Jacques Blanchard 1671 in der Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture über den Streit zwischen Zeichnung und Farbe hielt, ein Vortrag, der ein großer Erfolg war.
