BONNART, Jean-Baptiste (1654–1726), Kupferstecher Porträt Seiner Hoheit, des Herzogs von Orléans, Regent des Königreichs Antiker Stich, hinter Glas gerahmt 31 x 20,5 cm Bildfläche 43 x 33,5 cm mit Rahmen und Glas B.E Philippe II. d’Orléans, Neffe Ludwigs XIV., wurde nach dem Tod des Sonnenkönigs im Jahr 1715 Regent des Königreichs Frankreich, während Ludwig XV. noch minderjährig war. Seine Regierungszeit, bekannt als die Regentschaft, war geprägt von tiefgreifenden politischen, wirtschaftlichen und künstlerischen Veränderungen. Als aufgeklärter Mäzen förderte er die Entwicklung der Künste und trug zur Entstehung eines neuen Geschmacks bei, der den Rocaille-Stil vorwegnahm. Er starb 1723 und übergab die Macht an den damals dreizehnjährigen Ludwig XV.
