A north German black-and-white burgonet, mid 16th century Schwere, einteilig geschlagene Kalotte vom „ungarischen Typus“ mit vier kräftigen Graten, im Scheitel kräftiger eichelförmiger Knauf. Erhaben getriebener Dekor mit Lilienmotiven. Einteilig gearbeiteter, spitz zulaufender Nackenschirm. Aufschlächtiger Augenschirm mit gebördeltem und gekniffenem Rand. Im Scharnier anhängende, kräftig gewölbte Wangenklappen mit je vier Gehörlochungen. Anhängend die originalen Lederschlaufen für den Kinnriemen. Im Inneren geringe Reste einer roten Sammlungsnummer. Höhe 25,5 cm. Gut gearbeiteter, hochwertiger Helm in gutem Zustand. Provenienz: Ehemals Sammlung Schloss Sigmaringen. Vergleichbare Stücke sind dort auch heute noch ausgestellt. Condition: II
