"An archer", Japan, bears signature probably 'Yoshimitsu', late 19th/early 20th century Bronze. Bogen, Sehne, Pfeil und Köcherpfeile separat gearbeitet und eingesetzt. Figur auf Holzsockel. Am rechten Oberschenkel außen in hochrechteckiger Reserve mit gekörntem Punzrand bezeichnet, wohl Yoshimitsu. Stehender Krieger in Rüstung, breite Schrittstellung, den Bogen im ausgestreckten linken Arm, die Rechte an der Sehne. Hohe Kopfbedeckung mit Bindekordel, gebundener Haarschopf, Köcher an der rechten Seite mit über den Rücken aufragenden Pfeilen, ein Schwert im Gürtel. Reliefdekor mit gekörnten Punzgründen und feiner Binnenzeichnung in Schnittlinien: Rundmedaillon mit langschwänzigem Vogel in Wolkengrund am Brustpanzer, Vogelmedaillons an den Ärmeln, radförmige Rundmotive an Hose und Beinlingen. Oberfläche braun, an Erhabenheiten heller und gelbbraun nuanciert, in Vertiefungen dunkler. Staubablagerungen in den Vertiefungen des Dekors. Maße Skulptur H. 51 cm (mit Bogen H. 66,5 cm), B. mit Bogen ca. 37 cm, Sockelmaße 16,5 × 46 × 26 cm. Condition: II +
