GONZALO ARIZA Kolumbien, 1912–1995 Tequendama-Wasserfall, 1984 Tinte auf Papier 25 x 33,5 cm Unten links signiert mit „G A“. 1984 schlug der Meister Gonzalo Ariza Benjamín Villegas vor, ein Buch über den Fluss Bogotá zu erstellen, und widmete sich dafür mehrere Monate lang der Erkundung des Flusses und der Darstellung seiner Landschaften. Diese Original-Tuschezeichnung, die während seiner Durchreise am Tequendama-Wasserfall entstand und 1985 auf den Vorsatzblättern des Buches abgedruckt wurde, offenbart seine außergewöhnliche Sensibilität bei der Darstellung der Natur. Der Einfluss der japanischen Malerei zeigt sich in der Freiheit und Feinheit der Pinselstriche, dem Reichtum der Nuancen und der Ausgewogenheit zwischen den dunklen Flächen und den leeren Bereichen des Papiers. Mit einer bewundernswerten Ökonomie der Mittel gelingt es Ariza, die Dichte der Vegetation, die Feuchtigkeit der Umgebung und die Atmosphäre der Landschaft anzudeuten.
