Jean-Baptiste CARPEAUX (1827–1875) & die Kaiserliche Manufaktur von SÈVRES, Seine Hoheit, der Kaiserprinz, und sein Hund Néro. Gruppe aus Biskuitporzellan, am Sockel signiert und mit dem Stempel der Manufaktur von Sèvres versehen. Höhe: 41 cm Als Jagdgefährte Napoleons III. und treuer Freund des kaiserlichen Prinzen genoss Néro einen privilegierten Platz in den Tuilerien. Sein Verschwinden im Jahr 1865 löste große Bestürzung aus und bewegte sogar die Pariser Presse. Nachdem er nach einigen Tagen wiedergefunden worden war, wurde diesem berühmten Palastbewohner die Ehre zuteil, vom Bildhauer Carpeaux an der Seite des jungen Prinzen verewigt zu werden.
